What is an Enhanced Classroom (eClassroom)?
An eClassroom is a classroom that has been equipped with multimedia devices to aid in teaching and presenting material to the intended audience. There are currently over 150 eClassrooms on the Ithaca College campus. The specific equipment in these classrooms may vary slightly from room to room, but the basic set up includes an LCD or DLP projector, a DVD/ VCR player, a Dell PC with internet access and a Laptop connection with internet access and an overhead projector. The projector is capable of displaying an image from each of the devices in that room (with the exception of the overhear projector.) Some eClassrooms may also include a Crestron control system which operates all devices via touch screen or a Pixie Pro controller which controls the devices via pushbutton, eliminating the need for individual remote controls. Some rooms are also equipped with a document camera to display opaque or transparent images via the projector. Much attention has been given to making this equipment easy to use. However, we strongly recommend that you spend some time familiarizing yourself with the equipment before you need to use it for your class.
Keys
The doors to eClassrooms will be kept unlocked and available to faculty for classes. The podiums in many of the rooms require a key, which is available to all faculty members using an eClassroom. To obtain a key, stop by the ITS main office, located in Muller 102.
