NOVA INSTRUCTIONS (from an off campus or dorm room computer)

 

  1. Go to www.ithaca.edu/computing and click on information for students and parentsÉon the right side will be a link to download Novell FTP.
  2. Download and install this program (read the Using WS_FTP Quick Guide) for help in setting this up.
  3. When you open the program a box should appear called session properties, fill out the following: Your Name, Host Name=nova.ithaca.edu, Host type= UNIX (standard), fill in your user ID and password from the account you set up. It may not be the same as your email name and password. Leave the rest blank and hit enter.
  4. Now you should be logged in.
  5. Double click on the green arrow in the top left of the RIGHT half of the screen. A folder with your user ID should appear (do not click it).
  6. Double click that same green arrow again. A bunch of folders will appear. Find the folder that says ÒUSER folderÓ and double click it.
  7. Find the FACULTY folder, open it and double click on CROSS.
  8. You should see a folder with the class Ð either Anatomy or Fluency
  9. *To open a file, click it once to highlight it (or right click it) and hit ÒEXECÓ or ÒExecute file.Ó

 

NOVA from an on campus computer

  1. Log in using your user ID and password from the account you set up.
  2. Go to my computer
  3. From there you should be able to find a folder labeled FACULTY and CROSS and opening the notes should just take a double click.
