ANALYSIS OF SPEECH MOVEMENTS (Developed by Douglas E. Cross, 1996)
Instructions: Use the following five-point scale to rate each feature of speech movement. Features are divided into eight categories with "anchors" identified for each. A rating of 3 for any feature represents the most natural characteristic observed in the normal speaker under non-stressful speaking conditions. Ratings 1 and 5 represent extreme behaviors with higher and lower ratings indicating characteristics that typically inhibit or facilitate fluid feeling/sounding movements respectively.Items marked with "*" are used in analysis of Communication Pace.
