The William A. Scoones Community Service Award recognizes Ithaca College students who have made significant contributions to the community through service work.
Eligibility
- Performed an act of acts of service that had significant impact, either on an individual or group in the Ithaca Community
- Sustained service over and above normal expectations
- Positively encouraged the spirit of volunteerism and demonstrated commitment and dedication to the cause.
- Fostered a positive relationship between Ithaca College and the surrounding community
- Promoted involvement of others in Community Serivce
- Maintained a minimum of 2.5 GPA and be in good judicial standing at the time the award recipients are choosen and presented
Nomination Process
- A faculty, staff member or another student can nominate recipients
All nominees are notified and must fill out an application in order to be considered for the award
Selection
The Community Service Committee will review applications and notify winners the week of April 8th. The awards will be presented at the Celebration of Service Reception. The Community Service Committee is comprised of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to fostering the spirit of volunteerism among college community members.
