Leadership Opportunties

At Ithaca College, there are hundreds of ways to get involved in campus life and exercise your leadership abilities. This page lists just a few of the possibilities in several areas around the college in order to give you a taste of what's available. The list is by no means comprehensive. Peer Leaders for the Cross Cultural Retreat

Selected from among past participants of the annual Cross Cultural Leadership Retreat, the Peer Leaders work with the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement staff to develop, promote and implement this annual event. Peer leaders are selected in the spring semester through an application process.

Many Ithaca College departments offer leadership opportunities through paraprofessional roles and employment which offer significant responsibility and learning opportunities while demonstrating leadership. The following list, though not comprehensive, offers an overview of many of the leadership opportunities available on campus. These opportunities are supervised by the departments listed who should be contacted for additional information.

Student Organizations - The Center for Student Leadership & Involvement registers approximately 160 student organizations every year. Student organizations offer significant opportunities to explore and practice leadership in a number of different ways, including holding a formal position within the organization, leading an organizational project, planning an event or seeking to effect change on campus. Although advised by Ithaca College faculty or staff members, the student organizations are highly student-driven and can afford students the opportunity to take the lead.
