Community Plunge FAQ

What will we do?
Prepare to roll up your sleeves! Participants spend Thursday and Friday working with different local service organizations . Service opportunities include: making a nature trail wheelchair accessible, painting at a local charity, assisting with summer camps or preparing lunch for residents of an elderly community. After the service projects are complete, we will put on our bowling shoes for a night of bowling, as well as an ice cream social.

Who's there to help me?
Team leaders are current students who share your interest in community service and will serve as site liaisons. Two team leaders will work with each team of approximately eight students. The team leaders will be volunteering with you, and are a valuable resource for information and advice.

What will this program cost?
Community Plunge is COMPLETELY free! This includes transportation to and from sites as well as meals. You even get a free t-shirt and a bunch of other goodies. Not too shabby!

Where will we stay?
Participants move into residence halls with other early arrivals. You will move into the room assigned to you for the fall. You will not be the only one there! Your neighbors include student employees, athletes, and RA’s.
