Draw dots and connect them with lines and with the young kids you use colors.

Count the number of dots or verticess (V) , the number of lines or edges  (E)  and the number of lakes or faces (F) (closed region).  Include the ocean as a huge lake (the area outside)

Summerize the results in a table.
