Enterprise Content Management Program
ECM Project Overview
Welcome to the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) information site. This web site contains information about the college’s ECM and related Academic Workflow projects and initiatives. It will be updated periodically with new information as the project progresses.
Enterprise Content Management is a formalized means of organizing and storing an organization’s electronic documents and other content that relate to the organization’s processes. The term encompasses strategies, methods and tools used throughout the life-cycle of the content.
A related effort to automate a number of paper processes to help facilitate a student's academic-related requests such as for a grade change, or course registration override have been grouped together in a effort called "Academic Workflow". For more information, please visit the Academic Workflow site.
SSR is the capture of documents from scanners, Multi-Function Printers (MFP’s), network folders or from any application using a virtual printer driver such as a .pdf creator. Once captured, documents are indexed by document type for quick retrieval by authorized end users. Documents stored in the ECM system can be manipulated just like a paper file with annotations, highlights and redactions. SSR is being enabled for identified departments in advance of their predetermined ECM projects to allow them to become familiar with the system and to scan, store and retrieve documents. This will assist in developing future workflow requirements and the subsequent development to come for department workflows.
