We are pleased to announce that as of August 13, 2009, Ithaca on iTunes U is officially part of the iTunes Store. While iTunes U has been up and running at IC for one year, we had to demonstrate to Apple that there was enough quality educational content in order to become part of the nearly 250 schools listed in the iTunes U index.
A few weeks ago ITS announced that Webmail is being integrated with myHome, and that as of the end of the Fall 2009 semester, myHome will be the sole access point for Webmail. ITS is very pleased to report that literally thousands of new users have switched over to, or are at least exploring, the myHome environment since that announcement.
ITS recently implemented an option in Homer to "group" blackboard sections together. A special transition week was in effect allowing faculty to import content from a "child" section into the "parent" course. That transition week is now over!
An option for grouping multiple sections of the same course in Blackboard will be available starting Monday, August 17, 2009 at noon on the Blackboard Application page in the Homer system. Instructors are strongly advised to review the Blackboard Section-Grouping Quick Guide to understand the pros and cons of grouping before selecting this option for their courses.
