Months of planning always comes down to the last few exciting days before the event. It's a lot of fun watching everything come together.
The advance participant registration has closed for this year, with almost 800 people from all over upstate NY having registered to attend. If you didn't get a chance to pre-register, no problem - just complete the quick and free on-site registration at the event. And if you did pre-register, be sure to pickup your name tag to be entered into the drawing for the iPod Touch.
If you have a smartphone you can review the program schedule, vendor information, parking and up-to-the-minute announcements by visiting our mobile site at www.ithaca.edu/edtechday/mobile.
Most years this is where I write something about the weather, and hoping that we don't have a big snow storm or something (it is upstate NY after all), but this year I don't think we have to worry about that! The forecast is for the high 70's and sunshine. Incredible.
On behalf of the entire Ed Tech Day coordination team, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the campus on Thursday for our 22nd Educational Technology Day. We're ready! We'll see you then.
It's showtime!

There are many different aspects to putting a show like Educational Technology Day together. The most important involves getting people to register - spreading the word to both vendors and participants, and providing them with the information they need in order to make a decision to register or not.
The decision to register often comes down to the same question - who will be there? From the vendor's perspective, they are looking for the right mix of attendees. Each vendor has their own criteria for the perfect audience for an event like this. For participants, it's about the mix of vendors and sessions. Sort of a chicken and egg problem actually - to get vendors to sign up, we need a good mix of participants; to get participants, we need a good mix of vendors and sessions.
Fortunately, over the years we've managed to build up a good track record of attracting a great mix of vendors and participants. Making the decision to attend an easy one for both groups.
So, what are you waiting for - register!
We hope to see you there.

Our initial planning work for our 22nd annual Educational Technology Day is starting up. The coordination team has been assembled, meetings scheduled, Web site updates started, and the planning cycle officially begins.
We hope that you will join us for our 2012 Ed Tech Day, which will be held on Thursday, March 22nd. As the planning effort unfolds, please be sure to check back often for updates and news related to the event.
We expect to open Vendor Registration in late December, and Participant Registration by mid January. Last year vendor booth spaces were snapped up at a record pace - and we essentially sold out of space before the vendor registration cutoff deadline. Amazing. It'll be interesting to see what this year brings.
Please be sure to drop us an email (edtechday@ithaca.edu) with any thoughts or suggestions - we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking forward to putting together another great event and hope that you will join us for the journey.
