Student Perspectives on Educational Technology: A Panel Discussion
Location: Taughannock Falls Meeting Room
A panel consisting of current Ithaca College students, including representation from the first year and senior classes, will discuss how technology plays a role in higher education from their perspective. Some of the topics to be discussed include classroom mobility, resource access, and traditional classroom environments compared to MOOCs (Massive Online Open Courses). Come join us and hear students share their expectations for the use of technology in and out of the classroom, and where they would like to see educational technology head in the future. DAS 101: An Introduction to Distributed Antenna Systems
Location: Cayuga Lake Meeting Room
This presentation will introduce and define the various types of Distributed Antenna Solutions (DAS) and what a DAS does for you. As well as describe types of DAS systems and speak to the variations within these systems. Infrastructure and RF components (antennas, etc) will be reviewed to give the audience an understanding of the planning and implementation for DAS systems. The audience will leave with an understanding of the basic components and functions that make up a iDAS (Indoor DAS) and oDAS (Outdoor DAS) systems, as well as how these systems are a benefit to their students, faculty and administration. Tour: Park School of Communication Tour
Location: Depart from the Registration Table
Join us for a tour of Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications. The Park School houses specialty labs and studios that support television, video, film and photography production. These studios and labs offer students real world production facilities. The studios contain control rooms and production studios with advanced lighting, sound and computer equipment to meet production and cable access requirements. Tour will depart from the registration desk in the North Foyer promptly at 12:10 p.m. and is limited to 20 people. Please pick up a free tour ticket at the registration table prior to the departure time.
