Utilities and Energy Management
Utility contracting (including electricity, natural gas, water and sewer services); strategic energy planning; analyzing energy consumption and costs for electrical and natural gas usage including: lighting, chilled water, hi-temp hot water, domestic hot water, dining services, compressed air, water treatment, HVAC and ventilation systems. Perform equipment life cycle analyses; create, monitor and analyze building metrics and verification, facilitate higher efficiencies through better systems management, and LEED certification coordination. Monitor and track college greenhouse gas emissions and work with the campus community to lower emissions and identify opportunities to meet carbon reduction goals. Act as liaison to community organizations investigating carbon emission reductions, optimal energy solutions, or renewable energy sources. Continuously perform campus wide energy assessments and ensure that the energy management plans are supportive of the instructional goals of Ithaca College to promote a comfortable climate for learning. Develop projects and forecasts to prepare reports appropriate to serve as the key advisor to the Associate Vice-President for Facilities on energy matters.
