Career Planning for Psychology (PSYC-102)
|
Each semester I teach a 1 credit course designed to help Psychology and Applied Psychology majors answer the age old question "What can I do with a degree in Psychology?". In this course we explore the many options available for students with bachelor's degrees, as well as careers that require graduate training. I help students explore their own career interests and goals, and cover how to plan your undergraduate experience to have the career you desire. As a part of the course we learn about how to get internships, get into graduate school, search for a job, and think about finances and career/family balance. Beginning Fall 2007, the name of this course will change to "Orientation to Psychology" and it will become a requirement for Applied Psychology majors. Soon, it will be a requirement for all majors.
