Guide to Ithaca "Your Guide to Everything Ithaca on the Web" - A wonderful web page developed by the Alumni Association of Ithaca College. This site has numerous links to information about the College and the Ithaca community.

Ithacaevents.com - A web site dedicated to events happening in the Ithaca area. You can search for types of event, specific dates, and venues. A very useful tool for finding performing arts events in Ithaca.

IthacaNet- "Dedicated to increasing the awareness of, access to, and content on the Internet -- by, for, and about the people of Tompkins County, New York."  This site offers information about Ithaca, NY, including information schools, and things to do and see in the community.

Empire Saxophone Quartet - The web site for the Empire Saxophone Quartet. This chamber ensemble (Steven Mauk, Dan Miller, April Lucas, Anthony Alduino) has been in existence for 14 years, performing a wide variety of music for all types of audiences. They have recorded several albums and had numerous works dedicated to them. (Prior to the arrival of Miller, Jamal Rossi served as the alto saxophonist.)

Music Resources on the World Wide Web - This is an all-inclusive, music web site sponsored by Yale University Music Library.  There is an exhaustive listing of links having to do with music, including sheet music and score sources, music organizations, various musical styles (Blues, Jazz, Film Music), festivals and prizes, listings of music schools, and world music links. Almost an endless list of possibilities.

Selmer - The web site for The Selmer Company, manufacturers and importers of high quality saxophones. Also included on this site is information about their other companies, Bach, Buescher, Ludwig/Musser, Glaesel, and Emerson Flutes USA.

North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) - Professional organization of saxophonists based in North America.

ARDESA - Website for the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutsche Saxophonisten, the German saxophone organization (in German).

ASC - Website of L'Association des Saxophonistes du CANADA (in French).

CASS - The official website of the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain.

QCASS - The official website of the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Australia.

Hickey's Music Center - Located in Ithaca, New York, this is a excellent source for saxophone music, recordings, instruments, and accessories. Hickey's also owns Lyceum Music Press.

Dorn Publications - (includes Open Loop recording, and The Saxophone Journal and Jazz Player magazines)

The Saxophone Shop - Located in Evanston, Illinois, this has been a sources for purchasing saxophones and related accessories for over 25 years.

The Woodwind and Brasswind- Located in South Bend (IN), New York, and Paris, this is probably the biggest musical instrument supply house in the world.

Vandoren - Founded in 1935, this company has been the leader in reed manufacturing and design. They also have mouthpieces and a variety of accessories.

Rico Reeds - The Rico Reeds web site has information about their product, clinicians, and the company's history. Of particular interest (found by clicking on Inside Rico) is information about the growing and processing of reed cane.

Classic Saxophone On-Line - An on-line service for purchasing saxophones, recordings, and music. Also included are forums, chat lines, and historical information.

The International Saxophone Homepage - A website maintained by saxophonist Jason DuMars, which has many interesting links.

Saxgourmet - A website maintained by saxophonist Steve Goodson, which has a list of vintage saxophone serial numbers and a "Blue Book" for pricing older instruments.

Outstanding Contemporary Saxophone Works & Recordings by Anthony Balester - A listing of new compositions and recordings for the saxophone by contemporary composers. This was based on a research project Balester completed while attending Ithaca College. A fine source of lesser-known saxophone resources.

Composers and Works - Taken from the 12th World Saxophone Congress program in Montreal in July 2000. An excellent place to find biographies for composers and performers, as well as information about specific works.

Saxophone History - This is part of the website maintained at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Included here is an excellent timeline for the saxophone.

Links for Saxophone - A website that has links to saxophonists, as well as saxophone ensembles, manufacturers/dealers, and resources.

Web U.S. Univesities, by State - A site which lists most colleges and universities in the the US by state. Very useful for finding the homepage for many institutions.

Google - Type in the word "saxophone" into this search engine and enjoy the bounty of links.

AltaVista Translator - This well-established search engine also has a translation function. You can view a foreign-language website in English, translate text, and even translate your own e-mails into a foreign language. (Includes translations to and from English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Portuguese.)
