Study Guide for Quiz 4
    This is a rough guide to help you structure your preparation for quiz. This guide covers the textbook: content with which you should be familiar.

    Chapter Three: Electronic Field Production Style

    • Understand what constitutes electronic field production - both in terms of its characteristics, types, and its differences from ENG.
    • Corporate and Professional Videos:
      • Know some of the unique rules that guide the instructional/training/demo videos.
    • Commercial and PSAs:
      • Know the different formats for commercials. 
      • Know the shooting styles for commercials
    • What are the four elements that sports features usually include?
    • What are the three simple rules for sports coverage?

Chapter Eleven: Budgets and Pricing

  • What are some of the differences between ENG and EFP production when it comes to budgets and pricing?
  • Explain "chargeback" and flat rate pricing when doing in-house production.
  • What is the difference between above-the-line and below-the-line costs?  Who falls into each category?
  • Explain and give some examples of overhead expenses.
  • What is the definition of labor costs?
  • Provide an example of an employee whose cost would be budgeted under labor costs and an example of an employee whose cost would be budgeted under overhead.
  • What are the five factors needed for determining the cost of associated with an EFP video project?
  • What is the typical profit margin in production?

Chapter Twelve: Law, Ethics, Copyright and Insurance:

  • Know what constitutes libel and invasion of privacy and the very best defenses.
  • Understand the concept of "consent."
  • Understand the value of shield laws to journalists
  • Know and be able to discuss the components of fair use by walking through an example.
  • Understand the concept and limits of public domain materials
  • Know what Internet material is copyrighted.
  • THERE WILL BE NO QUESTIONS ON INSURANCE
