Ideas by Dani:
Suggestion for sources for Problems
Work on problem together and use friends also. Make the problems
real for you. Try to act them or draw them. There are no mistakes.
Use the web to find intereting problems. Use Dani Books. Send
people to come to Dani and chat about some problems. Design problems
for kids that will come to the class. Borrow books from dani or other
sources (Library). Some of your problems will be used in the scavenger
hunt. Don't tell the answers to everyone if you find them.

Dani asks: Any comments? Meeting outside class? Goals?
Response by alyssa1181
I am beginning on working on my project of teaching the class
something about Math. I am getting off on a rough start on solving my problem,
but I am sure I am
will be able to work through it. Not having had any Math classes
for a number of years makes me realize how much I have forgotten.
Response from Dani: Start from the simplest example. Get
out of the box. Can come and talk to me.

wise worked on problem solving problems. we read through joy of
mathmatics to see if the book could aid us in solving some of the
equations. Response by Dani: It is ok to move slowly.
It will give you time to become friends with the problems and integrate
them inside yourselves. Lte mw know details also. I am interested
Response by Melissa Chinigo
Today I worked individually on word problems from the sheet.
I completed three more. I started with the ones I thought were the easiest
and I'm going to move on to the harder ones next class.
Dani response: Could you share which ones? Consider choosing
problems from other sources also.
Ideas and progress:
Everyone in the group individually worked on the Math Problems. Then
we
spoke about specific problems and gave each other our insights into
what
we all thought was the correct way to answer them. We spoke about our
problems in our approach and whether or not they were trick questions.
We
all decided that the problems were pretty challenging and made us think
very hard to work them out. Although we did not figure out all of them,
we did manage to solve a bunch.
