Maasak Akpik
 
 

Maasak has been heavily involved in the program from the beginning.  She has served as translator, field assistant, and exceptional cook.  She lives in Barrow, and teaches the Inupiat language in the schools. 

Cora Leavitt

Cora is the matriarch of the Leavitt family.  She participated in both summer field seasons at her camp at Qugannak Lake.

Luther Leavitt, Jr.

Luther, son of Cora Leavitt, assisted in two summer field seasons.  Never one to sit still, Luther has been a tremendous help throughout the project. 

Joshua Nashagnik
 
 

Joshua has been involved in the project since its inception.He is an excellent fisherman, and participated in all three field seasons. Joshua lives in Barrow and maintains a camp at Narvakpuk Lake.

Joeb Woods

Joeb has been involved in the project since its inception.  Joeb has also been involved in several research projects in the Colville Delta. Joeb is an excellent fisherman, and participated in the two summer field seasons.  Joeb lives in Nuiqsut, but spends much of his time at his subsistence camps in the area.  His camp at Maalgi Narvak was one of our sites.
