The United States Civil War Center--Over 1700 links to Civil War information on almost any topic you can imagine.

The Valley of the Shadow--This excellent multimedia site focuses on two communities (one northern and one southern) during the Civil War era.

Civil War Images--This Library of Congress site provides selected Civil War photographs.

Journals of the Confederate Congress--This Library of Congress site includes the text of this seven-volume series from 1861 to 1865.

Hearts at Home: Southern Women in the Civil War--An online exhibit illustrating the many varied roles played by southern women during this conflict.

The Assassination of Abraham LIncoln--This Library of Congress site provides text and images related to this incident. Be sure to follow the link to the Abraham Lincoln Papers at the LOC.

A Nation Divided: The US Civil War--This site provides a BRIEF history of war in text and images. The images are probably the most interesting aspects of this site.

Africans in America (PBS)--America's journey through slavery is presented in four parts. For each era, you'll find a historical Narrative, a Resource Bank of images, documents, stories, biographies, and commentaries.
