Calling, Ever Calling, concerto for
oboe (or soprano saxophone) and orchestra (or wind ensemble) (1990),
commissioned by the Mid-American Conference Band Directors Association. First
performance by Michael Henoch (oboist with the Chicago Symphony) and the
Central Michigan University Wind Symphony, at the 50th anniversary convention
of the College Band Directors’ National Association in Kansas City, Missouri.
Art for Art's Sake (2008) Written in
honor of Arthur E. Ostrander upon his retirement as dean of the Ithaca College
School of Music. First performance
by the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, May, 2008.
Concerto for Horn and Orchestra (or
wind ensemble) (1997) commissioned by Gail Williams (associate principal horn
with the Chicago Symphony). First performance with the Syracuse Symphony in
March, 1997.
Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra (Leader Lieder) (or wind ensemble) (2005) commissioned by the International Trumpet Guild. First
performance by Rex Richardson with the Xiamen Symphony, China, August, 2006.
Concerto for Trumpet and String Orchestra
(2004) commissioned by Rex Richardson. First performance in Melbourne,
Australia, August, 2005.
Gaia! An Ode to the Earth (1991) in six
movements, for chorus and orchestra, commissioned by the Griffith Institute
with partial funding from Meet the Composer, Inc. First performance in Buffalo,

Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra.
