Professional Development Committee
Mission
To facilitate personal and professional development enabling individuals and groups to achieve their full potential and thereby increase their contribution to the successful realization of the College's mission and vision.
Method
Professional development may include any activity which contributes to the enhancement of personal or professional knowledge, skill, competence, or working practice, including:
- courses
- development and implementation of programs and activities
- vocational training
- participation in meetings and conferences
- development of educational materials
- active involvement with professional bodies
The Role Of The Committee
- Assessing individual and organizational need for professional development
- Establishing centrally organized professional development activities
- Liaising with providers of professional development programs within the College
- Communicating information regarding professional development opportunities
- Working with individuals to meet development needs
- Reporting on and monitoring professional development activity
- Assessing the quality of developmentment activities and operation of the committee
