How to Get Involved with FLEFF's Open Space

Ithaca College Student and FLEFF Intern Participation

How to participate in Open Space if you are an Ithaca College student or former FLEFF intern:

  • Enroll in our special, one time only, special mini course for Spring 2010 Block I, FLEFF Open Space Lab, taught by internationally renowned new media artists.  The course is a lab where your work in social media will be seen by international artists Skyped in, and where you can build real-world professional credentials as an active creator and participant in a social media think tank
  • Post a comment on our blogs--our bloggers promise to join into the conversation, debates, discussions. A blog is simply a launching pad for discussion, not the final word. And our bloggers have all requested hearing from IC students--many of our bloggers are alumni, faculty, former high profile FLEFF guests. So it's your chance to be part of a larger conversation
  • Get into the action and make a remix project for Make Open Space and Compose Open Space (and win fame and prizes!) Great exposure to international jurors.
  • For those with a more literary bent, join the Define Open Space gang and post a picture with a definition of open space. Great exposure to international writers who will be our jurors
  • Participate in our Open Space Alternate Reality Game (think gaming is just for middle schoolers with joysticks?  Think again and take the plunge into a utopian world).  The ARG is not just a game, it's an online think tank in open space thinking. Participate and build up your scenario planning skills for real world application in design
  • Stay tuned for special screenings with FREE ticket giveaways exclusively for STUDENTS downtown at Cinemapolis Theaters at selected FLEFF special screenings and discusssions
  • Join us for talks, workshops and screenings at our week long residencies (Indian playwright Girish Karnad is October 26-30 on the IC campus)
  • Sign up for our FLEFF mailing list to receive news about FLEFF 2009-2010 social media projects, screenings, forums, residencies, contests, exhibitions, games, international blogs
