Academic Affairs

The College will implement all officially recommended public health measures to limit the spread of illness, remove obstacles to student compliance with recommendations wherever possible, develop ways, within its capabilities, for instruction to continue during interruption in class attendance, and suspend teaching activities when deemed necessary.

  • The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, in communication with the CERT and the Office of the President, will support and promote to College faculty whatever pandemic-related public health directives are issued by state and federal agencies (e.g., regarding social distancing, self-isolation, and illness-related absence from classes. College policy and practices will be appropriately amended in order to remove obstacles for student compliance with prevailing public health directives and recommendations.
  • The College will develop ways for teaching and learning to continue during interruptions in classroom attendance whenever possible.
  • The Office of the Provost, in consultation with the President and other college administration as appropriate, will consider how and when to suspend classes by working closely with local and state public health officials.
  • The College will implement preemptive class suspension if and when such action is warranted.
