Essential Personnel, Operations, and Services
Ithaca College will establish a system to rapidly identify essential personnel, operations and services relative to the College’s mission and objectives.
- Any College employee may be considered essential in a pandemic emergency. Key essential emergency personnel may include
- AVP for Human Resources
- Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management
- Director of Health Services
- Director of Residential Life and Judicial Affairs
- Associate Director of Media Relations
- AVP for Facilities
- AVP for Business and Finance
- Vice Presidents
- Managers in the HR office and necessary staff
- Manager of payroll and necessary staff
- President’s Office
- Facilities staff sufficient to keep buildings, campus roadways, etc., open and useable for current needs.
- ITS staff sufficient to meet campus needs
- Residential Life and Dining Service staff sufficient for number of students remaining on campus
- Sufficient Public Safety staff
- Caretakers for laboratory animals
- Sufficient Accounts Payable staff
- Sufficient Media Relations staff
- Health Services staff sufficient to meet the healthcare needs of students remaining on campus
- CERT Working Group members
- Vice Presidents and Directors will be responsible for the pre-event planning of essential personnel in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources, and for final decisions regarding essential staffing based upon actual pandemic emergency details.
- Essential personnel will be expected to report to work or remain at work for their regularly scheduled hours, and possibly beyond, or until the emergency is over.
- The College will implement a fair and equitable compensation system for essential and non-essential personnel during the pandemic emergency period.
