Housing, Facilities, and Dining
In addition to health care, Ithaca College will meet other needs of students living on campus as appropriate during an influenza pandemic. The College will continue to provide safe and adequate housing, and meals, for students who are unable to evacuate for reasons beyond their control, and will strive to provide for essential staff and volunteer workers as capabilities allow.
- If classes are suspended due to the severity of disease outbreak, all residential students who are able to leave campus will be required to do so.
- Students who must remain will be housed at the College’s discretion, to maximize their safety and well-being and the institution’s ability to provide them necessary services. This may include either clustering or separating individuals for isolation, quarantine, or the provision of medical care or routine services such as meals or building maintenance.
- The College will maintain regular communication with all students remaining on campus to insure their safety.
- The College and Dining Services will, within their capabilities, plan to stockpile an adequate quantity of food service supplies in case usual sources or transportation are interrupted.
- During a pandemic event, Dining Services will operate at least one central campus dining facility to serve students, faculty and staff. Meals may be served in a dining facility, as take-out, or delivered to individual students or residences as deemed appropriate.
