Transportation and Travel
Ithaca College will implement travel recommendations based on its own assessment of risk to travelers and/or CDC international travel guidelines.
- CERT, in consultation with the Office of the President, the Division of Legal Affairs, the Overseas Travel Committee and Health Services, will establish emergency-specific guidelines and restrictions for students, faculty and staff travelling on College business during a pandemic emergency. The Office of International Programs will be the clearinghouse for college travel policies and restrictions applying to students travelling for academic purposes connected with Ithaca College.
- The College will make every effort to communicate specific travel restrictions prior to any governmental action that may restrict travel, but cannot guarantee its ability to do so. There will be no reimbursement for travel to areas that have been restricted by governmental authority.
- The College will not be responsible for any individual who does not adhere to College travel restrictions. It is extremely unlikely the College or its service providers will be able to provide any support to individuals traveling internationally once a pandemic occurs.
- Enforcement and communication of travel restrictions to staff, students and faculty will be the responsibility of the College. If the United States government or its agencies order return evacuation to the United States, the College Overseas Travel Committee will identify individuals who need assistance, communicate to these individuals, and provide support as needed and requested.
- CERT will be responsible for policies concerning the return of travelers who are ill or may have been exposed to contagion, basing its policies on information from Health Services, government authorities, and public health resources.
