Academic Funding and Sponsored Programs

Applying for External Funding

External grants are binding contracts between the sponsoring agency and Ithaca College. As such, applications for both federal and private and family foundation grants require routing through Academic Funding and Sponsored Programs for approval by Ithaca College administration.  The Routing Form also ensures that proposals are supported by the administration and adhere to Ithaca College policies.

An Intent to Submit Form should be completed and submitted at the earliest possible time but no later than one month in advance of the application submission date.  The form is submitted electronically and content will be routed for approval by the President, Provost, Dean, and department chair. Applicants are encouraged to discuss forthcoming proposals with their department chair and dean in advance of the submission deadline.

The Routing Form should be completed and submitted one week in advance of the submission date.

Development officers can assist with completing Intent and Routing Forms, completing and submitting federal funding applications, searching for additional funding opportunities, and sharing guidelines and tips for writing grant proposals. Call 274-1326, or email acadfund@ithaca.edu for assistance.
