What
is your target date to have this in the addressee's mailbox?
If
designing your own mail piece, send a sample to the IC Mail Services Manager.
It will be faxed to the USPS Mail Piece Design Analyst in Rochester, NY
for approval before it is printed to verify it complies
with postal regulations. Usually, a reply is received the day it is faxed.
Each
piece in the mailing must be identical.
To
be sent at the standard nonprofit rates, a minimum of 200 pieces is required.
Allow 1 to 10 days for this to reach the addressees.
To
be sent first class, a minimum of 500 pieces is required to receive the
best discount. Allow 1 to 4 days for this to reach the addressee.
Fill
out a Bulk Mail Request Form, (BKM), available in a pack of 25 from the
warehouse and send it to Sherry Newton in the Mail Center.
If
you currently receive mailing labels from an outside source, please have
this information sent as an electronic file to the Bulk Mail Center.
Savings
of approximately 20 cents each when electronic.
Send
your address file electronically, tab delimited or comma delimited to
bulkmail@ithaca.edu and refer
to the number in the top right corner of the BKM. Do not send address
labels or order address labels and apply them and then send the envelopes
to Sherry Newton. You will be charged full first class postage for these,
as our equipment cannot automate for USPS discounts.
When you send the address file electronically, software verifies the accuracy
of the address, sprays a zip+ 4 bar code and sorts it for highest discount
with the USPS.
We
currently do not have software that can automate mailings in window envelopes.
Window envelopes are sent as first class.
A non-profit
standard mailing, properly prepared, can be sent for as little as .16/piece.
A pre-sorted
first class mailing for as little as .30/piece.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
