Institute Affiliates and Fellows

The Gerontology Institute would not be able to carry out our mission or our vision without the help of our Institute Affiliates and Fellows. Affiliates are faculty members with a significant interest in gerontology.  The primary responsibility of Institute affiliates is to serve as resource persons for the Institute. They may be called upon to teach a course, provide an occasional class lecture, participate in a campus or community education presentation or forum, or serve on an ad-hoc committee.  For a complete listing of our Affiliates and Fellows, click here.

Mission
The mission of the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute is to:

  • Provide students unparalleled opportunities in multi/interdisciplinary coursework, research, and experiential learning
  • Facilitate and support the involvement of students, faculty, and staff in innovative research and practice projects that further their academic and professional goals and improve their ability to positively impact the lives of older people
  • Develop unique intergenerational programs that involve students, faculty, and staff in community partnerships with persons of all ages
  • Provide education and training to faculty, practitioners, and consumers, with particular emphasis on the circumstances of elders living in rural New York

Vision
The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute will be a leader in gerontological education by providing exemplary programs to students and professionals that improve their ability to positively impact the lives of older people.
