Phonathon
Every Sunday through Thursday throughout the academic year, 15 to 20 enthusiastic IC students congregate in Alumni Hall. They settle into their chairs, turn on their computers, put on their headsets, and begin calling alumni and parents across the country.
This is the Ithaca College Annual Fund phonathon, a team of 50 students who reach out to 46,000+ members of the Ithaca College community, one by one.
The student callers provide updates about what's happening on campus. They answer questions. They solicit feedback from parents about their children's experience at IC. They confirm contact information. And they ask for financial support for the Ithaca College Annual Fund.
In turn, the callers sharpen their communication skills while learning the importance of philanthropy. They find out firsthand from alumni what their Ithaca College experience was like, and they get wonderful advice about career development.
