In the fiscal year ending May 31, 2009, Ithaca College donors once again demonstrated their loyalty by coming forward to support important College initiatives even in difficult economic times. When the College asked donors to support an expedited campaign for the new athletics and events center in order to take advantage of a favorable contractor's bid, donors responded in full force. And when the College asked for additional financial aid for students whose families were struggling due to the economic downturn, IC donors once again came to students' aid, making gifts to ensure that those with limited means could receive the high-quality education they deserve. We're extremely grateful for the loyalty and generosity of our exceptional IC donors.
The total for fiscal 2009 cash gifts was $18,836,266 received from 14,782 donors. Alumni donors comprised 45 percent of our overall donor count.
Membership in the President's Associates (a group of donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually) remained stable from prior years at 551. Such donor loyalty is an extremely promising trend for Ithaca's future.
A total 6,122 nonalumni parents made gifts of $907,094, a 20 percent increase from last year's total of $754,522.
Gifts from organizations also grew from $13,275,427 in fiscal 2008 to $14,883,801 in fiscal 2009, an increase of 12 percent.
