Football Weight Room Initiative

Ithaca College football has a strong tradition of winning, leadership, and excellence. For 80 seasons, the Bombers have provided tough competition to division opponents, capturing three Division III national championships and fielding one undefeated team.

As an organization, we strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology in game preparation and strength training. That is why we embarked upon a project to overhaul the Ceracche Center weight room.

The facility desperately needed an upgrade to replace outdated equipment and make sure our players have every possible advantage as they continue the tradition of excellence that is Bomber football. Our goal was to raise $100,000.

We are delighted to announce not only the successful completion of the campaign to renovate the Ceracche Center weight room, but the fact that we exceeded our goal for the project by nearly $10,000. The Bomber family has gone beyond what is expected, which has always been our style.

The weight room is completely finished, and it is outstanding. We now have a first-class facility where our players can train during the season and that we can showcase to potential recruits. Specifically, the following has been added:

  • Four 7-foot half racks
  • A full-body squat station
  • Stations for glute, hamstring, and neck strengthening
  • An adjustable plyometric box
  • Dumbbell racks
  • New flooring

Our players are excited about their new facility and are putting it to good use. This new strength training facility will definitely assist us in our quest to be the best in the country. Go Bombers!
