Graduate Assistantships are available on a competitive basis and are awarded to students with strong
academic records. Graduate Assistantships in the Adolescence Education and Childhood Education programs
consist of a tuition scholarship and an additional work stipend.
Applicants interested in applying for a GA role should

Complete the GA questions as part of the online application.

Submit two letters of recommendation in addition to the two letters required as part of the regular
admissions process.
Roles and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of Graduate Assistants in Education vary from year to year, but, in
general, include the following general possibilities:

Research Assistance
Graduate Assistants may be assigned to assist faculty members with research projects; this
role may include library research, data collection and analysis, and/or writing.

Program/Project Assistance
Graduate Assistants may be assigned to assist faculty members in coordinating and
administering departmental programs and projects.

Public School Partnership Assistance
Graduate Assistants may be assigned to provide support to projects sponsored by one of our
public school partnerships.
