Chris Wilber
I graduated from Ithaca College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Physical Education. As an undergraduate at Ithaca College, I was able to enjoy many meaningful experiences such as attending the NYS APHERD conference, student teaching abroad in the country of Cyprus, and establishing relationships with peers and professionals.
During my undergraduate coursework, I gained an increased interest in the field of Health which influenced my decision to obtain a Master’s degree in Health Education. For graduate school, I chose Ithaca College because of the relationships that I had already established, the dedicated professors and faculty, and because of the opportunity to be a graduate assistant. As a graduate assistant, I will have the opportunity to be an assistant coach to the Men’s Track and Field team, which I was a member of during my undergraduate years. As an assistant coach for the Men’s Track and Field team, I’ll gain hands on experience in coaching and working with collegiate athletes as well as working together with other coaches.
In the future, I plan to use my Master’s degree to get a job in the field of education. I would like to become a health teacher primarily but I would also be interested in teaching Physical Education if the opportunity presented itself. I am also interested in coaching at any level because I enjoy working with kids. I believe Ithaca College has and will continue to prepare me for my future.
