Evgenia Noidou
My name is Evgenia Noidou , an International student from Greece. In June of 2011, I graduated from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki in Greece with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and Sport and a Concentration in Outdoor and Leisure Activities. When I was on the 3rd year of my studies, I went to a German University for a semester, as an exchange student. This was a great chance to see another educational system and equip myself with additional knowledge and skills.
During my undergraduate studies, I had many opportunities to teach at schools and work with children. Within the last four years, I have worked as Ski instructor, Wall Climbing Instructor, Head of Leisure, Head of Extreme Sports and Head of Entertainment for Students with speaking and language disabilities as well as for seniors. Children give me energy and inspire me to constantly learn, so that I can transfer my knowledge back to them. I really enjoy spending time with youth.
Over the last couple of years, a strong tradition has been established with Greek students coming to Ithaca for graduate studies. Every year a Greek student comes to Ithaca College to pursue graduate studies. I competed at a national qualifying exam to earn the scholarship that this University would offer to a Greek student and finally I achieved this. Health Education is a considerably interesting and useful specialization for me, but unfortunately this field is not offered in Greece, so I decided to study in this country. The knowledge and the qualifications that I strive to gain will hopeful be very rewarding. They will prepare me as best as possible for my future career. Now, regarding my career plans, I hope that I will have the opportunity to work as teacher in Health or in Physical Education and advance this field in my home country.
