Justine Cobb
Hello, my name is Justine Cobb. I graduated in December 2010 from Canisius College with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and Health. My time spent at Canisius College allowed me to gain the knowledge and determination to pursue a Masters degree at Ithaca College. Some of my undergraduate accomplishments include being an active member with the P.E. Majors Club, a member of the Swimming and Diving team, being an active member of the Teacher’s Education Club, a volunteer at the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Buffalo, and attending numerous NYS AHPERD and AAHPERD conferences due to scholarships from the P.E. majors club.
I chose to further my education by attending Ithaca College to get a Masters in the Health Education program. I found that Ithaca College fulfilled all of my needs both professionally and financially. To me, Ithaca College is one of the top colleges for the Health Education field. Ithaca College allows me to gain a great deal of professionalism while also allowing more personal experiences through my Graduate Assistantship.
During my time at Ithaca College, I am working with Dr. Stewart Auyash as a Graduate Assistant by having a responsibility in the areas of teaching and research. Receiving this Graduate Assistantship is such a great accomplishment to me and will help me gain the professional experience that I need in the health field.
In the future I plan to use my Master’s degree to work within a local school district as a Health and Physical Education teacher or involved in health education field through a private organization. I am very passionate about teaching and having an impact on a learner’s life. I like to keep the mentality that no matter what type of learner comes my way, I am always ready to teach them. I look forward to my time at Ithaca College because it will further my education and prepare me for the professional workforce.
