The Neighborhood
The attractive, brick-clad building housing the Washington Semester Program is well located at 2807 Connecticut Avenue, in the prestigious northwest section of Washington, D.C. It is one block south of the National Zoo and one block north of the Woodley Park/Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station. The Washington Center is within close proximity to the majority of Washington government agencies and bureaus, cultural attractions, historical landmarks, and virtually all of the foreign embassies. The surrounding neighborhood is well established and boasts a variety of multi-cultural restaurants and shops along tree-lined streets.
Accommodations
All apartments have three bedrooms that are fully furnished and centrally air-conditioned, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and a common area. Apartments house six residents. Furnishings include long twin beds, dressers, bedside tables and lamps, sofa, armchairs, coffee table, computer desk, dinette table and chairs, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, and pans.
Amenities
Residents enjoy the security of special entry locks, security guards, and the convenience of laundry and vending services in the building. Each apartment comes equipped with cable television hookups and high-speed Internet at no additional cost. Residents can also browse through several daily newspapers or conduct research in the state-of-the-art computer center also housed in the building. Resident assistants, usually former residents of the Boston University Washington Center, as well as a full-time residence manager live in the building.
Accommodation Costs
The 2008/2009 per semester cost will be approximately $4,100 and will be paid directly to Boston University by Ithaca College. Payment of the housing fee to Ithaca College by program participants will be arranged/communicated by the Washington Semester Program Director. The fee includes all utilities, cable television, high-speed Internet, telephone, and use of to the computer lab. It does not include long distance. Single rooms may be requested for an additional fee of $1,080 per semester. Space is extremely limited, and not all requests will be honored.
