Internship Policy and Procedure

Meet with Dr. Deborah Curry and/or Dr. Jennifer Wofford to go over your internship interests 

Secure an internship  (See the databases below:)

Follow the guidelines given by Dr. Curry to apply for an internship 

Meet with the dean of your school to find out the procedure a propos to your department. Pick up an internship application

Identify your Faculty Internship Sponsor and consult with him/her

With the help of your department search an appropriate course number for your potential internship: email this number to gps@ithaca.edu 

Once you have received an internship and received the appropriate course number for your internship follow the procedure below

Fill out an internship application form for your school with information such as 

  • The name of the organization
  • What responsibilities will be assigned
  • Who will supervise your work at the organization
  • The learning objectives for this internship
  • What skills and talents do you have for this internship
  • Complete the design statement or proposal for this internship
  • Have your site supervisor complete his/her portion of this agreement

*The deadline for submitting Spring and/or Summer 2010 internship forms TBA. (These are generally submitted to our office a week after you have begun your internship in DC.)

**If you intend to register for a Politics internship, please get in touch with Prof. Don Beachler (274-1249, beachler@ithaca.edu as soon as possible.

***It is imperative that students work through their individual departments in order to be apprised of the unique requirements for that department.
