Scholarship Funds Available for a Summer 2010 D.C. Intern!

Students who will complete an internship during summer 2010 in an unpaid (or travel-stipend only) position should apply for this scholarship.

The award is intended to aid in the payment of tuition for the internship and/or defray living expenses for the summer experience.

Students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the Fall of 2009 with a GPA of at least 3.0 and good judicial standing are eligible to apply.

Applicants must also demonstrate financial need for the 2009-10 school year, as determined through their financial aid documentation.

Funding for this scholarship is provided through the generosity of alumni residing in the Washington, D.C., area. Contact the Office of Career Services for additional information or a paper copy of the application form.

The Ithaca in Washington Program is open to juniors and seniors who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. Students must complete an application that includes the items listed below. Preference is given to academically qualified students and consideration is given toward encouraging participation from all schools.

A complete application includes:

  • Application (on line)
  • Application fee $35
  • Personal statement explaining why you want to participate in the Ithaca in Washington Program
  • Two references from a faculty or staff member familiar with your academic and co/extra-curricular work on campus (one must be from a faculty member)
  • Résumé
  • Official transcript

Your Acceptance Packet will include

  • Academic Plan signed by student’s academic adviser and dean
  • Student Conduct Certification
  • Emergency Medical Decision Authorization
  • Housing Form
  • Acceptance Memo

Financial Aid
Students enrolled in the program remain Ithaca College students and are considered for financial aid as if enrolled on campus. Please contact the Ithaca College financial aid office with questions.

Academic Adviser Meeting
Meet with your academic adviser to determine which semester would be most beneficial to spend in Washington. It is crucial that you talk with your adviser to understand how many and what type of credits you will earn as part of the Washington Semester Program.
