• To assist you in refining your critical thinking skills
• To provide you with an opportunity to practice copying and pasting
• To use Notepad and Netscape as tools in web development.
• To practice switching back and forth between programs using ALT + TAB

Assignment:

• Open up both Netscape and Notepad (Start Menu - Accessories - Notepad).
• Using Netscape and the many search engines available on the Web, find the answer to each of the questions listed below. Once you have found the answer, copy the URL from the location. Switch to Notepad. Type the number of the question, the answer to the question, and then paste the URL from the site where you found the answer. Be sure to SAVE frequently.
• There is a limit of 5 minutes per question.

9. What are the major associations of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance?
10. What herbal remedy is recommended as a relief for depression?
11. What is the number one cause of death in the United States today?
12. What are the dates of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Australia? Opening to closing ceremonies.
13. What is the currency and the exchange rate for Australia?
14. What is the best paying job you can find as an exercise or fitness instructor? Where is the job? And how much would you make?
15. What is the cheapest airfare you can find going from Syracuse to Seattle? What airline? You will be flying on break, which is January 3 to January 14. .
16. What percentage of Americans are obese?
17. What is your Emotional IQ?  Find an interactive site that will allow you to assess your Emotional IQ.
18. What is the range of target heart rates for a female 50 years old who wants to begin an exercise program?
19. Where can you find a map showing the route from Syracuse, New York to Albany, New York?
20. What is the best price you can find for an IBM-Compatible computer? It should either be a Dell, Gateway or a Compaq, with the following minimum specifications: 64 MB RAM, 6.4 Gigabytes hard drive, DVD, 56K internal fax modem, Windows 98 or 2000, and Microsoft Professional Office.

What do I hand in?

• A print out of the Notepad document listing the number of the question, the correct answer, and the URL of the source.

Grading 

• You will be awarded 5 points for each answer you have correct.
• There will be 10 additional points will be awarded to the individuals/group that have finished the search in the shortest amount or time and have all the answers correct.
