I graduated from SUNY Cortland in May 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Health Education. While at Cortland I had so many amazing experiences and exposure to several aspects of health education including conducting research, student teaching, and interning in the college’s Health Promotion Office.
When looking into Master’s programs, I had two options: make myself more marketable as a teacher by choosing a program in a different subject of education, or continue in the field of health education to gain more valuable experiences and further explore the subject I am most passionate about. Clearly, I decided to follow my passions for health and chose to come to Ithaca College. The fact that the program is condensed into one year was very attractive to me, because it means that I will be able to enter the field that I love as a professional in just one year. I am also very lucky to have the opportunity to work as a TA and gain some new experiences working with the faculty here and teaching at the undergrad level.
My career goals are to continue to work, teach, study and conduct research at the college level. I am very interested in working on a college campus to promote wellness and help others lead healthier, happier lives.
