I graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education, Teacher Certification. While at Brockport I worked with a great group of professors and students, learning about myself and developing my teaching philosophy. I had the opportunity to volunteer for the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged as well as volunteer as an assistant for the Brockport Women’s Volleyball team.
After graduation, I took time off to gain some teaching experience. I spent two months working with the aquatics program at Watkins Glen, grades 1-5. It was an excellent way to learn how to run a successful swimming program. I also spent time working at my local school district. It was a great experience to work beside teachers I had as a student.
I chose the Health Education program at Ithaca College as a way to make myself more marketable as an educator. From this program I hope to obtain my teacher certification in health so that I can have duel certification. While at IC I look forward to continuing working in the field of physical education while taking classes in health education.
My career aspirations include teaching and coaching. I wish to teach PE at the elementary level and coach at the varsity level. Eventually I would like to work at the collegiate level as a volleyball coach and part-time professor.
