Professional, Continuing, and Extended Studies

Leaving your job to pursue academic studies is not always an option or goal. Studies show that about 25% of all working learners are simultaneously employed full-time and enrolled in college full-time. Ithaca College offers many options for you to "learn while you earn."

Whether you are trying to complete your undergraduate degree, are a job-changer seeking to develop new expertise, an alum wanting to brush up on skills, or a lifelong learner, Ithaca College invites you to explore the many appealing options here on South Hill. Our Office of Extended Studies supports part-time, extramural options to allow you to take college courses throughout the year if full-time study is not possible for you. In addition to on campus courses in the fall and spring, we offer condensed online coursework during January ("Winter") and May, June, and July ("Summer") sessions.

If you prefer to focus on specific job skills or non-credit bearing credentials that you could obtain online or in weeks or weekends in person, one of our professional certifications might be the best option for you.
