Graduate Music Education (M.M. or M.S.)

Since its founding as a music conservatory more than a century ago, Ithaca College has trained and educated some of the country's finest musicians and music educators. Our 400 music students from around the country benefit from an intense relationship with committed, nationally recognized professors. Personal attention is fostered by a low student-faculty ratio—an Ithaca hallmark.

New Enrollment for Summer 2024

We have temporarily suspended admission into the summer Music Education (M.M. or M.S.) program as the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance begins redesign its overall graduate curriculum.

The redesign of our graduate curriculum will reflect what we have learned during the pandemic pertaining to appropriate pedagogical approaches as well as the robust revisions we are making to the undergraduate music education degree program. We are excited by the opportunities these improvements will provide, and we remain committed to offering programming that prepares graduate students with advanced academics and best practices in contemporary teaching pedagogy.

If you are interested in learning about the new graduate program once it is available, please complete our Graduate Music Programs Interest Form so we can notify you when more information is available and the application process reopens.

In addition, as you plan for summer 2024, we invite you to consider enrolling in a one-week Summer Graduate Music Workshops to further develop your professional skills.
