On February 15th, 2011 Ithaca College's Chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Academic Honor Society for Allied Health Professions held it's 2nd Induction Ceremony. Amongst the 22 inductees in the class of 2011 were 14 students and 8 faculty members from the Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology, and Exercise & Sport Sciences.
At the American Physical Therapy Association, Combined Sections Meeting held in New Orleans, February 2011, Dr. Cynthia Zablotny from the Department of Physical Therapy received an Award.
Neurology Section: Award for Service to the Section - This Award is in recognition of outstanding and sustained professional service to the Neurology Section. The purpose is to acknowledge and honor a member of the Neurology Section whose contributions to the Section have been of exceptional value.
At the American Physical Therapy Association, Combined Sections Meeting, held in New Orleans, February 2011, Dr. Christine McNamara from the Department of Physical Therapy received two Awards:
Richard Ruoti Award - The highest honor presented by the Aquatic Physical Therapy Section, this award is named in honor of Dr. Richard Ruoti, PT, PhD, one of the founders of the Aquatic Section. The Ruoti award recognizes exemplary efforts in volunteer leadership for the Section, as well as consistent, significant contributions to the advancement of the practice of Aquatic Physical Therapy.
Aquatic Physical Therapy Section: Leadership Award - This Award is presented to a section member who demonstrates both commitment to the profession of physical therapy and promotion of the mission of the Aquatic Physical Therapy section by consistently conducting excellent clinical programs, providing service to the association and serving as a patient advocate.
Professors Mike Buck (Physical Therapy) and James Pfrehm (Modern Languages) conducted a full-day workshop in New Orleans at the annual conference for the American Physical Therapy Associations, entitled "PT 2.0: Bringing Web 2.0 into the Physical Therapy Curriculum."
