The Handwerker Gallery’s collections contain approximately 300 objects, covering six continents and centuries of human cultural history. The Gallery’s maintains three types of collections:
Permanent
The Gallery maintains a global collection of paintings, prints and drawings, photographs, and sculpture.
Teaching
The Gallery maintains a number of artifacts that support the pedagogical activities of the College and the greater Ithaca community by providing hands-on learning experiences for students in numerous disciplines, including museology, art history, art, anthropology, and writing.
Plaster Casts from the Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Gallery maintains a collection of 36 plaster casts on long-term loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These casts were brought to the Gallery thanks to the efforts Nancy H. Ramage, Emeritus Professor of Art History.
