The Handwerker Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of "Daniel Jackson: Upon Reflection," curated by Cheryl Kramer, on Thursday, October 6.
"Upon Reflection" offers the viewer a glimpse into the intimate, playful world of Daniel Jackson’s still-life paintings. This body of work is characterized by a small selection of objects brought into a unified composition through subtle tonal variations within a virtually monochromatic background. Enhancing the intimacy of the works is their small scale and simple, but monumental, design. The artist subtly captures the effects of light and the textures of objects though his sophisticated handling of paint.
