|Are you up for adventure? Whitewater rafting, a weekend of backpacking, exploring a Canadian winter wonderland: the Honors Program has it all.|
We believe that learning happens both in and outside the classroom, and we encourage students to challenge themselves in new ways. We provide a wide array of opportunities so students can challenge themselves. These include:
- Whitewater rafting: At the beginning of every fall semester, the Honors Program offers a whitewater rafting trip that starts in Watertown, NY, on the Black River.
- Winterlude: You have probably never experienced a winter festival like this one! Honors students travel to Canada’s capital region to skate on the world’s largest outdoor skating rink, marvel at ice sculptures, and play on a playground made of snow. They also visit some great museums and admire the architecture of the capital building.
- Backpacking: Backpack for a weekend in the Finger Lakes region. The Honors Program provides guides and basic equipment so students can spend three days and two nights hiking in the region.
