Ergonomics: A Workstation that Works for You!

Ergonomics is simply fitting the job to the person. It is a way to modify and adapt your working space to create a supportive environment that protects the body. Graduate students in the Occupational Therapy Department, along with their professors, Mark Ross (Environmental Safety Specialist), and Andrea Clark (the Interior Design & Inventory Specialist from the Facilities Purchasing Department) have joined together to help create an ergonomics program here at Ithaca College. On this site are resources to look at and learn more about ergonomics. There is also a guide to equipment the college has available for purchase that is more ergonomically friendly, and an Office Workstation Ergonomics Self-Evaluation Checklist that will go to Mark Ross who will meet with you to decide upon your needs. However, the Self-Evaluation checklist is for post injury use. To prevent injury please use the resources and ask questions.
