Orange Chiffon Cake

Mixture 1

Mix:    

  • 2 ¼ cups cake flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt

 

Add:    

  • ½ cup oil (Make a well)
  • 5 egg yolks
  • ¾ cup cold water 2 tsp vanilla
  • Orange Zest: 1 orange grated

 

Mixture 2

Beat in separate bowl until stiff peaks form:      

  • 1 cup egg whites
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • Gently fold 2 mixtures together

Pour into ungreased 10” tube pan

Bake @ 325 for 55 minutes
