Learning a new job and adjusting to a new organization can be exciting and challenging.  With that in mind, we developed this program to help you and your fellow new employees feel more comfortable in your new environment.

Our objectives for this program are to help you:

  • • Gain knowledge about Ithaca College
  • • Meet other new Ithaca College employees
  • • Become familiar with key people in the organization
  • • Learn about Ithaca College policies and procedures
  • • Discover where to find answers to your questions
  • • Identify some of the many advantages of being an Ithaca College employee

Our program includes guest presentations covering a range of topics, including:

  • • Sexual harassment prevention
  • • Information technology polices and procedures
  • • Health & safety at Ithaca College
  • • Recycling program

The group orientation program is held periodically throughout the year to allow you   time to settle into your new job and to develop those questions that may begin to occur after you have gained some familiarity with your department, your position and with some aspects of Ithaca College as an employer.  We offer practical tips on navigating the Ithaca College and the ICHR Web sites for answers to questions that may arise, as well as understanding College employment practices, programs and services to all College employees.  Also, as part of the group orientation, a complete campus tour can be arranged.  This tour covers areas of the campus that might be of special interest to employees.
